Celebrating the colorful Cedar Falls university community

If you want traditional UNI game day apparel and related items, click here, and the University of Northern Iowa will benefit from their licensing arrangement with the linked company. NOTE: We will make a little bit if you buy something at that link, but we hope you will enjoy our “lifestyle” designs as well.

Our Cedar Falls Connection

Cedar Falls is my home town, and we lived in various homes that were situated either on the University of Northern Iowa (UNI) cor one block away. Of course, at various times during my 1949-1966 years in CF, UNI was called Iowa State Teachers College, then State College of Iowa, and then UNI.

My father was the basketball and tennis coach at the K-12 Malcolm Price Laboratory School, which also went through a number of name changes due to its status as a project of UNI: TCHS, SCHS and then NUHS.

Cedar Falls was a wonderful place to have a childhood, with an excellent educational system, athletic and social activities, and a creek filled with crawdads running right by our home.

No Logo = lower prices

This is not a licensed site for the University of Northern Iowa.

We found it just too complex to deal with all of the different licensing requirements for each school. And the licensing costs drove the prices of the products way up

So, due to our license-free status, we don’t put school logos on our apparel. If you want UNI logos, we encourage you to try the items linked below;

For our business model, we decided to offer benefits to children’s charities instead (see next box).

Junior League of Waterloo-Cedar Falls

We want to give back just like a school licensing product does, and so we are choosing one children’s charity in each college town that we are celebrating. In the Cedar Falls/Waterloo area we are supporting the Junior League of Waterloo-Cedar Falls, which has several programs of help to needy students:

  • Leagues Lockers – providing uniform items, school supplies and basic hygienic products to students in need.
  • Prom’s closet – In order to help prom be affordable they offer new and gently used prom dresses each year for $20, removing a barrier that may have kept them from attending their prom.

We  donate 10% of any profits received for sales of the Cedar Falls school colors themed products to the Junior League. You can help them out too!
